Staff Attorney - Ms. Appel Kaplan joined the Children's Rights Society as a Staff Attorney in 2008. Previously, she was an Associate with the firm Larkin, Axelrod, Ingrassia and Tetenbaum from 2007 to 2008. Ms. Appel Kaplan served as an interim Court Attorney for the Honorable Lori Currier-Woods in the Orange County Family Court in 2006-2007. Ms. Appel Kaplan was employed as legal counsel for the New York City Administration of Children's Services from 2001 to 2006. She holds a B.A. from University of Florida and a J.D. from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law. Ms. Appel Kaplan is currently on the Board of Directors for Nana's House Child Care Center, and was previously a member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Middletown, New York. She is admitted to the NYS Bar and the NJ Bar.
